The second day of the Sarajevo World Judo Championships Veterans 2026 confirmed once again the remarkable energy, depth and international reach of this exceptional event. As the M3 and M4 categories took to the tatami at the Hotel Hills Arena, the competition brought together experience, determination and a shared love of judo in every contest.

Across the day, judoka from a wide range of nations stepped onto the mat with the same objectives: to test themselves, to compete with respect and to enjoy the unique atmosphere of a world championships. From Europe to Asia and the Americas, the medal positions reflected the diversity of the field and the continued strength of the veteran community around the world.

For many, these championships are about far more than the final result. They offer a chance to reconnect with competition, to meet old friends and new opponents, and to measure themselves against judoka who understand the commitment required to continue training and improving throughout life. The intensity of the contests was matched by the warmth of the exchanges beyond the tatami, a defining feature of veteran judo.

The M3 and M4 judoka delivered a full day of committed action, technical exchanges and genuine sporting spirit. Each category demonstrated that experience does not reduce ambition. It sharpens understanding, reinforces resilience and gives every contest some added meaning.

There is no pause in Sarajevo. On the third day of competition, the M5 and M6 categories will take centre stage. Once again, the arena will welcome judoka whose journeys through the sport span decades, bringing their own stories, their own determination and the enduring values of judo to the world stage.
